Interested in licensing my artwork for film, TV, publications, merchandise, advertising, events, exhibitions, or other creative projects?
Overview
Simply put, licensing is essentially me “renting” my artwork to you to use on a product or a specific project. For example, like how non-Disney companies license Disney characters for their products like apparel and home goods. The artist retains the copyrights and ownership to their artist.
Below are general details to reference for our conversation. My goal is for our collaboration to be straight-forward and mutually beneficial.
Scope of Use
The fee will depend on where, how, for how long, and by whom the artwork will be used. I’m always open to discussing terms that reflect both the project’s scale and its creative vision.
Type of Use
Would it be used as a prop in a film or TV, print & digital publishing, on greeting cards? staging, exhibitions…etc.
Duration
Is this a one-time use? Used over a limited period? Perpetual?
Territory
Global or regional use?
Usage Rights
Exclusive or non-exclusive?
Copyright and Attribution
Since this I’m licensing the artwork to you, I retain all copyrights to the artwork.
Credit
We’ll go over how Licensees agrees to credit me as “Edmund Liang” in film credits, publications, promotional materials, websites, and social media wherever the artwork is featured.
Visual Integrity
The licensed artwork must remain true to its original form and shall not be altered, cropped, or modified in any way without express written consent. Any reproduction, distribution, or sale of the Image outside this specific purpose is strictly prohibited unless further written consent is obtained from me.
